We took a day off of Disney after two days for a little relaxation at the beach. It was just what we needed to rejuvenate before heading back to finish the last two days.
The popular california beaches can be pretty crowded. After fighting crowds we wanted some peace and quiet, so we opted to go to Crystal Cove State Park in Orange County. It was a $15.00 fee to get in, but oh was it worth it! We literally had the beach(s) all to ourselves! Crystal Cove has miles of beach property and 3 or 4 different entrances. The first beach we went to had tide pools. They were nothing like the tide pools that we love in Oregon, but we still had some fun.
We had so much fun spending the day at the beach! The weather was PERFECT and the kids loved it! The only regret that we had is that we forgot to pack our boogy board. Jeff and I both decided that next time we go we will spend at least one more day at Crystal Cove.
Poor Max lost his Captain Hook toy in the ocean as he was cleaning the sand off himself to leave. He was really sad. I personally was impressed that Hook lasted as long as he did there. I thought for sure he would have lost him with all the times he buried him. I found it a little ironic that Hook ended up at the bottom of the ocean.
All three of the kids passed out within minutes of being in the car and heading back to our hotel. Notice little Brooklyn sleeping in the mirror :)
When kids crash like this, you know that you had a good day!
